SEO Secret That Everybody Ignores

Search engine optimization is a very critical task in the success of any website. In recent times search engines seem to have complicated this task further by their frequent changes in rules. This has caused lots of anxiety as some of these changes have seen some sites lose virtually all their regular traffic instantly as their rankings have tumbled.

Are You Ignoring An Important SEO Step?
This has further added to the confusion amongst webmasters about search engines and their motivations. But no matter how mad one gets at the search engines, there is little that they can do to change the statistics which clearly indicate that well over 75 per cent of the traffic that most sites receive comes directly from search engines.

However, there is a secret that an increasing number of webmasters have discovered and are putting to good use. Whatever regular changes search engines instigate, their motivation remains the same. Most webmasters forget that there is currently very stiff competition between the leading search engines. More so because it has become abundantly clear that none of the top search engines are interested in the runners up position.

The search engine motivation
This stiff competition between search engines is focused on the customer, that is the person who uses search engines to find information online. The preferred search engine and therefore the top one will always be the one that most satisfies the needs of that customer.

So whatever changes search engines make they will always be focused on improving the search engine experience for surfers. It is not too difficult to figure out what those who use search engines want, or even more important, what they do not want. Anybody using a search engine wants to be able to find what they are looking for quickly. Most will be looking for the most detailed quality content on the subject or information that they seek.

This simply means that any website that places its' focus on the end consumer using search engines, rather than on the search engines themselves is guaranteed to retain their high ranking whatever changes search engines keep on making.

Can you dare assume that search engines do not exist?
So the most effective way to ensure that a website owner focuses on the surfers is for them to direct their focus on them, just like search engines are. It would help tremendously for them to start operating as if search engines did not exist and fully concentrate on ensuring that their sites have quality detailed content.

The dangers and harmful effects of webmasters focusing on search engines are very evident. We have sites that use keywords so heavily that it affects the quality of writing on their sites. Some sites have even done worse, leaving their quality content intact but creating keywords that are hidden to the human eye but visible to search engines.

In fact there are a whole lot of schemes on the net created to fool search engines, which have no regard for the surfer or what information they are looking for. For instance there is plenty of software on sale online whose promoters bluntly state is designed to fool search engines.

These are the sort of schemes that are causing so many constant changes in the rules of leading search engines as they seek for ways to combat any tricks that would favor undeserving sites in their rankings.

Content will always be king
What all this means is that content remains the most important search engine optimization tool. Just take a closer look at all the leading google websites and try and trace a common thread running through them all. You will quickly discover that the quality of writing and content in these sites is extremely high.

This means that any webmaster that makes an effort to provide quality, relevant and detailed content on their site with the experience of the surfer as their central focus will be using an extremely powerful search engine optimization tool.

If your content is good, then you can post it at other websites complete with a detailed resource box that directs traffic to your website. Quality articles will usually end up being re-posted all over the net in an endless viral effect that will create quality links back to your site. Search engines still rank websites based on the links from other sites leading to it so quality content has a double advantage.

You will of course need to do a thorough job of posting your articles to various article directories, ezine publishers and announcement lists.

Search Engine Optimization Guidelines - Pankaj Yadav, Delhi

What constitutes good SEO practices? What do you need to do to make sure you are properly ranked and indexed by Google? What practices should you avoid to make sure you don't incur the Wrath of the Search Engine? (Which could consist in penalties if not outright removal from the index.)

Often one can see a trend in which search engine optimization delhi personnel develop tactics that are adversarial to the search engines, as if you have to struggle against them or trick them in order to achieve good rankings.

This is, in fact, untrue. The reason is because the livelihood of a search engine depends on its ability to deliver relevant content. If you have valid, useful, and relevant content on your site, the search engines actually want you to reach the top.

To this end, Google has posted a number of webmaster guidelines to help companies get their SEO processes on track. But despite the inclusion of these guidelines, many companies either miss them or gamble on the idea that trying to fool Google will be effective.

The guidelines laid out by Google are fairly simple to follow, and are divided into three sections. These are design/content, technical, and quality guidelines.

To begin with, you have to make sure your site is ready for your SEO measures. This means submitting it to Google (or other search engines). It's a strange step to forget, and you can get crawled without it - as long as other sites link to you - but some people have been known to miss it. It is such a simple step, though, you just need to get it done. You should also submit a site map because this helps the search engine understand the structure and layout of your site. And this means you'll have a better chance of making sure Google sees your whole site.

For design and content guidelines, the recommend that you create a site with a clear architecture or hierarchy that employs good text links. The content that you include should also be clear and informative. Always keep in mind the keywords your customers might use to find your product or service, and then be sure to include them in the content. If at all possible, you should use text instead of graphics of words, since Google still can't read a picture.

Keep the mechanics well oiled. This means making sure there are no broken links, and the title tags or alt tags are useful and descriptive. There is also best practices in HTML, and you should follow them carefully.

The technical guidelines are, well, a little more technical. Make sure that you actually allow the bots to crawl your site, and allow them to do it without session IDs or arguments. You should also use the If-Modified-Since HTTP header. This tells Google whether or not you've changed your content since the last time you were crawled. You should also make proper use of the robots.txt file, so you can keep the bots out of sections of your site that don't really add much value.

The quality guidelines cover a lot more specific dos and don'ts. You should always build your pages for your customers first, and then employ SEO tactics for the search engines second. You should never, ever employ cloaking tricks, i.e. feeding the search engines something different than what you serve to a customer.

They go on to say that you should avoid using hidden text or hidden links, and you shouldn't create reams of duplicate content. Don't create pages that have malicious intent, and doorway pages that are auto generated and have no value to a visitor.

By following simple guidelines like this, and, above all, always providing valid and valuable content, your SEO practices can help you reach the top of the search engine ladder.

Spam for the Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization spam is defined as those immoral, dishonest techniques and methods that can improve a site's ranking in search engines by the search engine optimizer. In simpler words, search engine spamming refers to any activity that is drafted to befool the search engines to achieve higher rankings. Spamming on search engines is done by commonly following practices such as using hidden keywords, daily submission of the same web page to the same search engine, creating doorway pages etc.

SEO Service Providers Hide Some Facts

SEO Process Delhi

For every SEO service provider that offers you "the best" SEO campaign, there's ten more that will tell you the first provider doesn't know what they're talking about. One reason for this, of course, is the competition factor. The second is because SEO technology changes so quickly, there's always a chance that your SEO service provider may have fallen behind. Lastly, there isn't just one formula, book or school that says, "This is how SEO is done"; there are hundreds.
SEO Campaign Strategies:

White Hat vs. Black Hat
The impression you want to give your customers will define the type of SEO campaign you run, and the type of provider you choose:

Believe it or not, there are such things as unethical SEO campaigns; the authorities call this down-and-dirty practice "Black Hat SEO". Though Black Hat started out as just "hedging" the rules of search engine optimization, it soon went overboard.

One practice of Black Hat SEO service providers is called "keyword stuffing". This method involves taking long lists of keywords and stuffing them into a web page, hoping the search engines will give the page a higher ranking. Another method is invisible text, white text on a white background. The user never sees it, but the search engines will.

Black Hat tactics do work, but only if you want your site to go higher for a short amount of time before it's penalized. Like the good sheriffs of old, search engine spiders will eventually notice the trickery, as will your customers when they click on a page and see nothing but "blah blah long tail key phrase blah".

This isn't to say that White Hat SEO service providers are everything good, right and holy; there are unethical practices here, as well. However, these unethical practices are the kind that any buyer is used to: frauds, no work for all pay, etc. You can avoid companies of this type by doing research and asking for references.

White Hat methods include such things as keyword research, using keywords in good content, coding and many more. Like any marketing campaign, a SEO campaign takes time. White Hat methods are set in structured steps so that the campaign is constantly building power; instead of spiking your ratings to the top, you'll see a gradual rise.

Blue Hat Strategies
There's a trend rising through the SEO service providers called "Blue Hat" SEO. This is a mix of Black and White Hat SEO; its focus is to use the most advanced techniques of both practices to achieve the greatest, and most long lasting, results. Though still in its youth, Blue Hat SEO does have a large following, and is quickly growing to become a full-blown strategy of its own.
No matter which SEO service providers you look at, remember one thing: Running a SEO campaign takes time. Any provider that tells you they can have your site at #1 in a week is a provider you need to drop.

As most best SEO service providers know, your competitors are rarely the companies you thought they were. With businesses that aren't web based, the competition is easier to find; if you sell medical supplies, other companies that sell them are your competitors. It's not so clear-cut with internet marketing, however.

If you're starting at the bottom as a new website owner, it's an unrealistic outlook to consider the head dogs " who have been in place for years " as your competition; good SEO service providers will tell you this. When building a web-based business, the competition isn't necessarily those that sell what you sell. Instead, you're competing for placement, with SEO as a main way to wrestle your way to the top of the Google SERP (search engine results page) dog pile; and SEO means keywords. Those keywords are the first step to finding your direct competition.

SEO Service Delhi

Finding Your Competition
Though all SEO service providers have their own methods for competitive benchmarking, you can take some basic steps on your own to get an idea whom your competitors are.

1. Put the keyword or phrase in the search bar and see how many results come up. 2. Write down (or copy/paste into Word) the number one site for each search phrase you use. 3. Use the same keyword search with the "intitle:" command and "inanchor:" command. 4. Write down the sites that come up in these results.

The sites in the number one positions and those that come up for the "intitle:" and "inanchor:" searches are your most likely competition. Although there are other things SEO service providers can do to narrow down the list, you now have a broad idea of who you're fighting for the top position in your field.

Researching the Competition
Now that you know who they are, find out what they're doing that makes their site more visible. To do this, first look over their content. Is it informative, interesting and high quality? Does it stand out? How is it different from yours?

If content is an issue and writing isn't your forte, most reputable providers offer SEO copywriting services.

Look at their navigation and take in the details. If yours is more complicated, perhaps that's an issue. You want your navigation to be as uncomplicated as possible, but set up in such a way as to guide your visitors to interesting places on your site.

A word to the wise: While you're looking over the competitors' sites, don't make the mistake of some SEO service providers. Don't get so stuck on the idea of "I can do better" that you forget the bottom line, which is taking the best of all their sites and forging a top of the line site of your own.

Lastly, don't be afraid to take notes! That way, when you're ready to hire your own SEO service providers you'll actually understand a little bit more of what they talk about and how they do it.
